Bookshelf II

Bill Mason (1929-1988) is a legend of Canadian canoeing. He wrote a couple of beautiful books on the technique and art of canoeing. Path of the Paddle is Mason's classic canoe technique guide, updated by his children Paul and Becky in 1996. Most of the book focuses on whitewater skills, but also covers flatwater strokes and canoe rescue. The emphasis is on wilderness canoe tripping and camping in Song of the Paddle, also by Mason. I've never seen anyone else so canoe-photogenic.
